Today we meet with the founder of bluewater, Peter Bennett, to find out his funniest yachting experience, his thoughts on penguins and advice for teenagers entering the industry.
1. What is your favourite hobby or pastime outside of work?
Cricket, golf, skiing, padel tennis and red wine – all the good things in life!

4. What advice would you give an 18-year-old considering a career in yachting?
Spend time learning every aspect of the industry. There is so much variety in yachting and the opportunities are endless.
5. A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here?
“Smile and wave, smile and wave”. Because his latest Madagascar movie is taking a break.
6. What’s the funniest situation you have found yourself in during your career in the yachting industry – keep it clean!
As well as founding bluewater, I am also a yacht broker. I had just sold a yacht to an elderly gent and we were standing on the dock with his suitcase when the Captain rushes off the yacht, picks up the suitcases and promptly falls off the passerelle into Monaco Port… with the suitcase! I had to jump down to retrieve both the Captain and the wet suitcase from the Port!
7. When time travel is invented what advice would you go back and give 18-year-old you?
Life advice!
