This forms one of the 2 modules required to obtain the MCA Small Vessel Chief Engineer less than 500gt, 3000kw qualification. It is 5 days with a written exam at the end. The following topics will be covered: pumps, hydraulic systems, electrical plant, refrigeration and air conditioning, high-pressure air systems, lifting plan, alternative fuel and storage, ship construction and dry docking.

Approved Engine Course 1 , Approved Engine Course 2 , SV Auxiliary Equipment - Part 1 , SV Operational Procedures, Basic Hotel Service and Ship Construction , SV Marine Diesel Engineering , SV Chief Engineer Statutory and Operational Requirements
