This course forms one of the 2 modules required to obtain the MCA Small Vessel Chief Engineer less than 500gt, 3000kw qualification. It is 5 days with a written exam at the end. The following topics will be covered: the International Maritime organization along with SOLAS, MARPOL and STCW. Also international load line convention, international labour organization, the MCA, classification societies, planned maintenance systems, surveys, dry docking, voyage planning and emergencies.
